Resource Library
In any endeavor, research is important. That is absolutely essential in the world of investing and finance. It is so important to have a deep understanding of many topics that it requires constant reading, studying and absorbing of this information. Not to mention, experience, that just comes from time.
At Anchor Wealth Management, research is the bedrock in everything we do. Not only are we studying the markets, we are also studying history, philosophy and social behavior. All these are important because when it comes to investing it is about planning and making prudent decisions over time. In my opinion, that is how wealth is built and that is how wealth has been built as we study history going back thousands of years.
Libraries have always seemed to be places of, not just knowledge but also inspiration. Our desire for this Resource Library is no different. Over time, more and more information will be added to these pages that is designed to educate and hopefully inspire. These days there are different mediums that help make information easier to digest. That is why we want this to be a gathering of ideas that are organized into the written word along with videos.
To make this section better and more relevant over time, I welcome feedback that will help guide us in providing information that is helpful.
Market Trends
We see trends develop in all walks of life. We see them in fashion, hairstyles, shoes, and vehicles. These trends develop due to individual decisions made by people with their hard-earned money. Due to the laws of supply and demand, old trends lose steam while new trends gain momentum. These same dynamics exist in the financial markets all around the world.
At Anchor Wealth Management, we are watching hundreds of markets all over the globe. These include, stock markets, bond markets, currency markets and commodity markets. The goal is to identify what Market Trends are developing in these various areas. In other words, which markets are getting stronger and which ones are getting weaker.
When we manage investment portfolios, we believe over time, it is important to invest in the markets that are getting stronger and avoid or eliminate markets that are getting weaker.
Articles
Several years ago, I began writing an article called, “What’s Happening….” The article allows me to articulate what I see happening in the Global Markets and Economy and it is distributed to people all over the country.
There are three parts to the article. The first part gives an abbreviated listing of changes that are occurring in market trends. The second part gives a summary of recent happenings with the Fed, interest rates or overall market movements. The last part discusses a book that I am currently reading or just completed.
The most current issue of “What’s Happening….” is posted in the “Articles Library” section of the Resource Library. Past issues have also been archived as well. Feel free to browse these articles and ask any questions that come to mind.
Book Reviews
To better understand the world around us, I believe it is extremely important to be reading books, all the time. It is also important to have a broad array of books that are being read. History has shown that have a good working knowledge of our world can help in making better decisions over time.
Therefore, I am reading books that touch on topics that range from the financial world, history, financial history, philosophy, and social psychology. These book ideas come from clients, colleagues, family, experts in a particular field, or my general curiosity.
Because people do ask me for book recommendations, I thought it would be helpful to post recent book completions along with a small summary and my opinion.
Feel free to give me your thoughts on these reviews along with your book recommendations.
